Bad news Warhammer Online Fans, VoodooExtreme reports that EA Mythic's upcoming Massively multiplayer online game Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning has been pushed back to 2008. Warhammer Online was originally planned for a 3rd quarter 2007 release. EA Mythic's General Manager Mark Jacobs says that the decision to delay the title was made in order to take full advantage of the resources the developer has acquired since being picked up by EA in June 2006.

"We have made the decision to move our ship date for the US and Europe to the first quarter of 2008," Jacobs said in the latest Warhammer Online newsletter. "Release dates for Asia will be announced at a later date. Since our acquisition by EA, we have been afforded many wonderful development opportunities and we plan to take full advantage of everything that is available. This includes taking several additional months to make the best MMORPG possible."

Jacobs goes on to say that EA is supporting the decision to push back the game. "We only get one chance at a successful launch, and we plan to catapult this one over the walls of Altdorf."
