According to a report in the Holywood Reporter (via Yahoo News), a movie based in the Warcraft universe is currently in development by Blizzard. The movie will be produced by Warner Bros.-owned legendary Pictures, which has secured the rights to a movie version of the games.

No other details are known at this stage, however with World of Warcraft one of the most popular massively multiplayer games, with a reported 6 million subscribers worldwide, and the other games in the series breaking sales records, it's likely that interest in such a movie will be extremely high.
