GameTap, the subscription based downloadable games service, has announced that it will be shutting down the Myst Online: URU servers once more; this time for good, as the game is no longer financially viable. It is a shame to see an MMO which broke the trend, by being based on puzzles rather than the mindless grinding that most stick too, but I guess that just not enough people wanted to play a game which was different from the rest.

May it's legacy live on in the Myst games it was based upon.
