Sword of the New World IGN preview

IGN has a preview up for Sword of the New World which is also known as Granado Espada to other countries. Granado Espada recently started their Beta and my initial reaction to it was somewhat good. I liked the different feel of the game as compared to other fantasy based MMOs and controlling 3 characters at once in real time combat is intriguing to say the least.

One thing that immediately stands out are the visuals. Most fantasy MMOs take a traditionally orc vs. human approach to design with stone castles, iron axes, green monsters, and rotting undead. Sword of the New World takes its cues from the Baroque period in terms of architecture and clothing. It's not a style often found in games in general and certainly takes a minute to get used to, but it's special none-the-less. Make sure to check out the screens for yourself.
