Star Trek Legacy IGN Review

Filed in archive Game Reviews on December 13, 2006

Designed by Mad Doc and Bethesda, i had high hopes for Star Trek Legacy. Dreams of being a ship captain on a prettier version of Bridge Commander danced in my head but alas it looks like the final version of the game isn't up to Snuff.

There's no denying that Star Trek Legacy looks pretty and the game's storyline is also worthy of the Star Trek name due to being penned by both DC Fontana and Derek Chester. But is it worth buying?

As of this writing Startrek Legacy rates around 60% at Gamerankings.com.

IGN says: "The PC version of Star Trek Legacy is among the most disappointing games of the year. Putting aside any expectations you might have with regard to the Star Trek license or any past associations with games like Starfleet Command, Klingon Academy or Bridge Commander, Star Trek Legacy simply cannot stand on its own as an entertaining or satisfying experience. The poor control scheme and unreliable AI combine with overly long missions and the absence of a save system to make the game one long exercise in frustration."
