As we reported before, EA were set to release the Spore Creature Creator prior to the game itself shipping; and they have kept their word; albeit with rubbing salt in the wounds of people who have waited epic amounts of time for the game. The fact is, the creator, despite being a part of the full game, costs money if you want to get it early. Fortunatly it's only $9.99 but the sentiment still stands.

There is also a free version which only offers 25% of the potential of the full version.
