Check out new S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl screenshots via Gamespy. Scheduled to be released in the 1st quarter of 2007, STALKER is a FPS/RPG hybrid set in the infamous Russian nuclear power plant of Chernobyl. Featuring a nonlinear game world that has an equivalent land area of 30 square kilometers, this is one BIG game.

I'm skeptical if STALKER can even match up with old releases such as HL2 or even Farcry. Any developer can brag about being nonlinear game, release some beautiful screenshots taken on obviously some high end machine and promise gameplay we've never seen before. That is not to say that the developers of STALKER dont have a good game, im actually hoping that it will be as im interested in the game's premise, its just that i we gamers have been burned before with buggy and dumbed down releases.
