NameYourFEAR Name Rejects

Check out some of the rejected names for the NameyourFEAR contest by Monolith. As reported here at PC Gamers Blog, it can't be named F.E.A.R. 2 because Sierra owns the brand, but it remains in the same universe because Monolith and Warner Bros. have the fiction. So, Monolith took the best alternative route and let the fans speak and name the new game.

Many of the names that we received are totally inappropriate for the game that we are making, but this disconnect does not make them any less amusing. Our Producer starts giggling every time he reads the name "Egregore of Aih-Rahhar." Ahndreaux from Wisconsin explains the background for his compelling story of "Egregore of Aih-Rahhar," where "the hero confronts enemies envolted to the Egregore, erupted by the group mind of people working on the 'Aih-Rahhar' project enslaved by their social archetype." Whaaaa? While nobody understands what the hell Ahndreaux is talking about, we are all mysteriously drawn to the name. "I think there's a little Egregore in all of us," explains our Associate Producer, Nathan Edson. Check out some more of our fan's humorous names below:
