As we speculated on friday, 2KGames have made an official announcement regarding the existence and development of Take Two's Mafia 2.

Now set in the 1940s and 1950s, after the previous game's 1930 setting, Mafia 2 is set to plunge you straight into Mafia underworld, full of gunplay, "white knuckle" driving and a Hollywood like storyline. Hopefully it will not relinquish the charm and style the original game possessed, while bringing some much needed graphical and mechanical improvements over the first Mafia title.
