Hellgate, now with adverts, has had the details of what it's optional subscription will actually pay for, and to be fair, there seems to be some worth to it, with new levels, new monsters, new weapons, new skills, new spells, and most interestingly, new classes.

There will also be themed events specifically for those that pay, a "hardcore" mode (why do you want to pay for a super hard mode?!), achievements, Player Vs Player (very wise to restrict it to purely paying players, to prevent any unfairness), and a larger item storage bag.

We shall see how it works out, as optional payments in games haven't always gone well, but this most definitely has some worth to it.
