Hellgate: London gets ship date...sort of.

Filed in archive Game News on January 10, 2007

Electronic Arts and Namco Bandai, Hellgate: London's co-publishers, has just announced a summer 2007 "worldwide ship window" for Hellgate: London. Uhhhh...Okayyy! So we went from "When its done" to a summer 2007 shipping window, But fear not as i would rather have the developers take their time to polish the game and not rush it to stores as in the case of some of the big releases the past 6 months.

In a statement accompanying the announcement, Mr. Roper reiterated Flagship's committment to making Hellgate: London "absolutely the best game possible" and that he was looking forward to making the game's launch a "truly worldwide event."

Hellgate: London takes place in a dark, post-apocalyptic world where invading demons seek to destroy what is left of mankind. According to Flagship, the game "combines the depth of role-playing games and the action of first-person shooter titles" while also allowing for "infinite replayability" due to dynamically-generated levels, items, and enemies.
