Hands On with Just Cause

At Quakecon this weekend Nvidia had a cool booth set up with several different games form GTR2 to the obligatory Quake LAN event. The booth also included a playable Just Cause rig. I was able to spend some time with the game and boy is it cool. This is one title that I will certainly be buying. The level I played starts off with Rico (the Herolinks of the game) free falling to a beach insertion point while one of your allies is under heavy fire from the military of the tiny nation of San Esperito.

Pop the chute or plunge into the water and swim, it's your choice. Once you hit the beach you blast away at the soldiers and ultimately speed away in the back of a jeep firing away with a machine gun at the soldiers following close behind.

From first glance the game has superb graphics. It reminded me very much of the first time I saw Farcry. Gameplay is very similar to GTA, though no cops chase you. All in all the game simply rocked and I can't wait to get it loaded on my rig.
