Halo 2 Vista wont support DirectX 10?

, a Microsoft representative contacted them to douse rumors that the Vista version of Halo 2 will be supporting DirectX 10. Instead, Halo 2 for Vista will only feature DirectX 9 effects. Microsoft did say that users who run Halo 2 on DirectX 10 will see "certain performance" benefits.Thats pretty vague if you ask me but its not a big deal as high end DirectX 9 graphics still look pretty darn spiffy. Halo 2 for Windows Vista is expected to be released in early 2007. How will it fare against DirectX 10 titles such as Crysis?
The confusion apparently stemmed from the fact that Halo 2 will only be released for Microsoft's upcoming Windows Vista platform, which is the only operating system to support the new Direct X 10 graphics standard. Currently, the only video cards to support Direct X 10 are Nvidia's Geforce 8800 line. Even then, their Direct X 10 functionality won't be unlocked until Windows Vista's consumer launch.
