Gothic 4 announced, looking for new developer
Filed in archive Game News on May 23, 2007
Gothic publisher JoWooD has let the cat out of the bag: Gothic 4 will be made but it will be under a new developer. Jowoood says that they currently are in negotiations with a new developer for the free roaming action RPG, dumping former developer Pluto 13 aka Piranha Bytes. Gothic 4 is also planned for BOTH the PC's and console platform, marking a change from being a PC exclusive.

For those unfamiliar, the Gothic series has always been about free-roaming, open-ended gameplay. As the Nameless Hero, players were free to dynamically alter the world, allying with factions and destroying enemies as they pleased. Unfortunately, the series has always been plagued by some serious bugs, particularly the third release. We're hopeful the fourth installment proves to be more stable.
