Far Cry 2 DRM clarified

Filed in archive FPS by Jordan Grodecki on October 15, 2008

DRM in all worlds is contraversial, but it seems to have been significantly growing in the PC sector, esspeically with games like Spore allowing only one user to ever actually play the game properly.

After it was announced Far Cry 2 was to use the same type of protection as Spore, outrage spread around the online community, but Ubisoft have now clarified the facts.

It is indeed using the same Securom protection, but it is setup in a very different way; in fact, it's very much like Bioshock in the way you have up to 5 licences over 3 PCs, and they can be earned back by uninstalling the game.

It's not ideal, but it's better than Spore, I suppose....
