Rupture, that is, not Rapture, EA haven't gone completely mad and started buying game universes! Instead, EA have bought the gaming based social networking site Rupture, which never left closed beta testing. It was originally developed for WoW players to interact, and many suspect EA are going to implement it for upcoming MMOs.

The site is developed by Shawn Fanning, of Napster fame, and this should be his first real big cash win, as EA have stumped up 30 million dollars for the site.
