Catchup News: DX11, James Bond, Lord of the Rings

Filed in archive Catchup on July 30, 2008

Hi all, back from holiday!

I've decided to run a few catchup posts to highlight some of the most important stories of the past week.

First of all, there comes the announcement of some DirectX 11 info; suprising when you consider thatn DX10 hasn't even gone into wide use yet. However, it is a good announcement as we hear that there will be no new hardware requirements for DX11, unlike the incompatibility between 9 and 10. Via GamesUltra

Next, the new James Bond game, based on the upcoming "Quantum of Solace" is destined "not to suck", unlike the games that EA made...are we going to get another GoldenEye esque great? I really, really hope so! Via MVC

Finally (for this blogpost, doing 3 stories a post), the sixth major content update for Lord of the Rings online is keeping the game fresh with various new areas, quests, some better animation, and various other nice things. Check it out if you are interested.
