Despite being known about for a little while (featured in Edge magazine last month), Activision has today, with a very long titled press released, officially announced their new game based on the BAJA 1000 race series.

Baja 1000 is a long endurance race over varied terrain, and the game plans to be rather realistic, with mechanical problems occuring if you drive too hard. Those mechanical problems will thus lose you sponcers, and eventually, money, which you need to upgrade your mode of transport.
