Aging PC’s can run Crysis
The CEO of Crysis creator Crytek, has recently said the visually stunning shooter will work on "two to three-year-old" computers. The rather bad news is that Crytek's future titles are likely to require an upgrade Windows Vista.
In an interview with Next-gen.biz, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli said he wanted to make the game available to a wide range of PC fans rather than just those that could afford hi-tech top-of-the-range systems.
"We developed almost all effects to be very scalable for different hardware specs. Fortunately this is much easier now that we can rely on the existence of hardware shaders. We believe clearly that Crysis will be enjoyed by a large audience that dates back to gamers with two to three-year-old gaming rigs." Yerli added: "Most likely we will upgrade all dev stations to Vista and move to Vista-only titles, but that's not 100 percent decided yet."
Sure, "aging" PC's can run Crysis but would it look good?
