2K Games snaps up Borderlands

Borderlands, Gearbox Software's new Sci-Fi Action-Shooter-RPG which we reported on yesterday, has grabbed itself a publisher in the form of 2KGames, who are also behind the highly anticipated BioShock. A release date of "Holiday 2008" has also been announced, which gives the hype machine plenty of time to roll out and get the public's mouths watering.
The press release also gives away a couple more details about the game, such as the apparent highly customizable mission system, which apparently gives "near-endless variety" in all components that make up the game. Apparently, players can join and leave games at will through the online system, a concept that sounds rather odd, yet very few details are given. Finally, it gives away that customizable vehicles are a feature, which was kind of shown by the prominence of on the magazine cover we posted yesterday.
